Removing Vehicle Electrical System Battery

Information 

Switch off all loads, end operational readiness on the vehicle and keep transmitter key outside of the transmission range (at least 5 meters).

1. Observe specifications for handling 12-volt lithium-ion batteries.

   > Refer to the appropriate service information. .

   > 2X00IN HANDLING LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES

   Open door window on driver side.

2. Loosen battery negative terminal connection and disconnect ground line from the battery.

3. Release and disconnect LIN connection.

4. Unclip cover on emergency power connection and pull it up and out.

5. Unscrew positive line for current distributor and set it aside.

6. Loosen current distributor holder and move it to the rear.

   1. 6.1  Loosen nut on positive line at the battery -1-  .
   2. 6.2  Unclip current distributor holder -2-  .
   3. 6.3  Move current distributor with holder aside to the rear.
7. Unscrew screw on upper battery retaining bracket.

8. Unscrew screws on front battery retaining bracket and remove front battery retaining bracket.

9. Carefully remove the battery.
