Installing Vehicle Electrical System Battery

Observe specifications for handling 12-volt lithium-ion batteries.

If a new vehicle electrical system battery is installed, take a photo of the label on the vehicle electrical system battery before installation.

The data on the label will be required for teaching the vehicle electrical system battery to the vehicle.

1. Install in reverse order.

   Pay particular attention to the following:

   Electric connections must engage securely.

   Tightening torque for front battery retaining bracket to body > Tightening torque 8 Nm (5.9 ftlb.) 

   Tightening torque for front battery retaining bracket to rear battery retaining bracket > Tightening torque 8 Nm (5.9 ftlb.) 

   Positive line to current distributor > Tightening torque 16 Nm (11.8 ftlb.) 

   Terminal clamp on battery positive terminal > Tightening torque 5 Nm (3.7 ftlb.) 

   Terminal clamp on battery negative terminal > Tightening torque 5 Nm (3.7 ftlb.)
