Removing Rear Wheel Bearing Housing
CAUTION:
Electrically moved components
- Danger of limbs being trapped
→ Switch off electric power to drive motor.
→ Make sure it does not switch on again.
→ Check that there is no electric charge.
Information
Once PDCC is ready for operation, chassis adjustments can be made. To avoid injury/crushing, only work near the anti-roll bar, lower trailing arms and bellows of the steering gear without establishing operational readiness and always allow for the run-on time of 60 seconds.
- Remove brake disc cover plate -1- .
- Disconnect electric wiring harness -1- .
- Detach steering rod -1- from rear wheel bearing housing -2- .
- Loosen front upper control arm -1- from rear wheel bearing housing.
- Loosen rear upper control arm -1- from rear wheel bearing housing.
- Loosen lower trailing arm -1- .
- Remove rear wheel bearing housing -1-

- 7.1 Unscrew nut on drive shaft -2- .
- 7.2 Use > VAS 6926 - puller set to press the drive shaft off the wheel hub.
- 7.3 Unscrew nut -3- and counter at screw -4- at the same time.
- 7.4 Remove screw -4- and guide rear wheel bearing housing out of the trailing arms and drive shaft.

Secure the drive shaft at a suitable position so that the drive shaft's own weight is not pressing on the joint.
Rear wheel bearing housing
- 7.6 Replace nut securing drive shaft -2- , nut -3- and screw -4- .
- Clean the splines of the drive shaft.
