Disassembling Drive Shaft

Information 

The joint on the transmission side and the joint pin on the wheel side of the rear axle can be replaced. The entire drive shaft must be replaced if the profile shaft is defective.

The procedure for disassembling and assembling the drive shaft is described as an example for a joint. The procedure for disassembling and assembling the other joint is almost identical.

Information 

Aluminium protective jaws must be used when clamping drive shaft in the vice.

1. Clamp the drive shaft in the vice.

   Information 

   Before disassembling the bellows, the position of the bellows must be marked on the drive shaft using a coloured pen.

2. Loosen bellows -1-  from the joint -2-  .
   1. 2.1  Remove flat joiner on the bellows -1-  using a suitable tool.
   2. 2.2  Pull bellows -1-  off the joint -2-  .

3. Remove joint -1-  from drive shaft -2-  .
   1. 3.1  Position aluminium mandrel -3-  on the ball hub (star-shaped inner ring) -4-  and remove the joint -1-  by hitting it several times with a hammer.

4. Remove retaining ring -2-  from the drive shaft -1-  using suitable pliers.

5. Remove all bellows and flat joiners from the drive shaft.
