Removing Drive Shaft

If the outer joint pin is broken, the wheel hub must also be replaced.
- Only for the left drive shaft:
Carefully break the protective ring -1- on the left drive shaft -2- into three pieces using a suitable tool ant remove it. Do not damage the bearing underneath it.

When levering off the drive shafts, pay particular attention to the following points:
Bars on rear axle housing
- Do not lever them off at the bars -A- on the rear axle housing .
- The tyre iron must only be supported on the transmission housing .
- Always protect the drive shafts from damage by affixing fabric adhesive tape at the positions at which the tyre iron is used .
- A wooden block (approx. 40 x 40 x 100) must be placed underneath the right drive shaft in order to lever it off .
- Loosen the drive shaft -1-
from the rear final drive using a mounting lever and remove it.
