Removing Trailing Arm

Rear level sensor holder

1. 2.1  Support the wheel bearing housing -2-  using > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack  at the appropriate position.
2. 2.2  Detach trailing arm -1-  from shock absorber -3-  and connecting link -4-  .
   1. 2.2.1  Unscrew nut -5-  and counter at screw -6-  at the same time.
   2. 2.2.2  Remove screw -6-  .
   3. 2.2.3  Replace nut -5-  and bolt -6-  .
3. 2.3  Detach trailing arm -1-  from wheel bearing housing -2-  .
   1. 2.3.1  Unscrew nut -7-  and counter at screw -8-  at the same time.
   2. 2.3.2  Remove screw -8-  .
   3. 2.3.3  Replace nut -7-  and bolt -8-  .
4. 2.4 Only for vehicles with air suspension system:  Secure air suspension bellows to prevent from falling.
5. 2.5  Detach trailing arm -1-  from rear axle housing.
   1. 2.5.1  Mark the position of the eccentric threaded joint -9 to 11-  .
   2. 2.5.2  Unscrew nut -9-  and counter at the eccentric screw -10-  .
   3. 2.5.3  Replace nut -9-  and eccentric screw -10-  .
   4. 2.5.4  Remove eccentric screw -10-  and eccentric washer -11-  .
   5. 2.5.5  Unscrew nut -12-  and counter at screw -13-  at the same time.
   6. 2.5.6  Remove screw -13-  .
   7. 2.5.7  Replace nut -12-  and bolt -13-  .
   8. 2.5.8  Remove trailing arm -1-  .
