Subsequent Work

  1. Install automatic transmission.

    > 373519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

  2. Install rear axle.

    > 420119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR AXLE 

  3. Lift the wheel bearing housing as far as required using lifting equipment (e.g. > VAS 6931 - Transmission and Engine Jack  ) until the lower trailing arm is horizontal.

    Zero position

  4. Tighten threaded joint for trailing arm -1-  .
    1. 4.1  Position the eccentric threaded joint on the marking and tighten nut -9-  while at the same time holding back the eccentric bolt -10-  .

      > Tightening torque 160 Nm 

      > Torque angle + 180 ° 

    2. 4.2  Tighten nut -12-  and counter at screw -13-  .

      > Tightening torque 70 Nm 

      > Torque angle + 180 °

      trailing arm

  5. Tighten threaded joint securing upper control arm at the rear -1-  to rear axle housing.
    1. 5.1  Tighten nut -2-  and counter at screw -3-  .

      > Tightening torque 70 Nm (52 ftlb.) 

      > Torque angle + 90 °

      Upper control arm, rear

  6. Tighten threaded joint securing upper control arm at the front -1-  to rear axle housing.
    1. 6.1  Tighten nut -2-  and counter at screw -3-  .

      > Tightening torque 70 Nm (52 ftlb.) 

      > Torque angle + 90 °
