Preliminary Work
- Observe general warning notes for working on the high-voltage system.

- Isolate the high-voltage system from the power supply.
> Refer to 2X00IN Isolating high-voltage system from power supply/Starting high-voltage system in the appropriate service information.
- Lift up body cover -1-
in the luggage compartment to allow access to the high-voltage line for the electric motor at the rear using a plastic wedge and remove it.
Removing body cover
- Unscrew screws -1-
for high-voltage line connection for electric motor at the rear and disconnect electric plug connection from electric motor at the rear.
High-voltage line for rear electric motor
- Release all the air from the air spring system.
- Remove rear wheels.
- Remove rear wheel housing liners.
- Loosen rear brake calliper and hang it at a defined position in the wheel housing.
- Disconnect electric potential equalisation line -1-
.
Electric potential equalisation line.
- 9.1 Screw off nut -2- .
- 9.2 Move electric potential equalisation line -1- aside.
- Detach rear level sensors on trailing arms.
- Remove real shock absorber.
- Only for vehicles with steel springs:
Remove coil springs.
- Remove air bellows.
- Drain coolant.
- Remove strut.
- Removing control unit for Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM).

- Only vehicles with PDCC:
Remove rear roll stabilisation (PDCC).
- Remove compressor.
- Remove pressure accumulator.
- Remove front stabilizer.
