Install Front Spring Strut

Information 

Recommendation for workshops replacing shock absorbers/spring dampers:

• Dampers can be replaced separately up to a mileage of 20, 000 mls (30, 000 km) or 3 years  .
• If the mileage is > 20, 000 miles (30, 000 km) or the components are more than 3 years old, we recommend replacing them in pairs  .

The procedure for removing and installing is described for one side as an example. The procedure for the other side is almost identical.

You will need a second mechanic to help you with this step.

1. Install front spring strut -1-  .

   1. 1.1  Position front spring strut.
   2. 1.2 Fit  and tighten -2-  nuts.

      > Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 ftlb.) 

      > Angle + 45 ° 

2. Insert cable plug for front spring strut -1-  into the holder -2-  , push it on and lock it.

3. Secure front spring strut -1-  to the lower trailing arm -2-  .
   1. 3.1  Position screw -4-  and fit nut -3-  , but do not tighten yet.
