Replacing Hydraulic Mount

  1. Remove stop washer -1-  .
    1. 1.1  Unscrew screw -2-  and remove stop washer -1-  .

    WARNING: Mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic press 
    • Risk of squashing 
      • Read specific safety information for the press.
      • Check that the press is working perfectly before use, particularly the safety components.
    WARNING: Danger of objects or loads falling down 
    • Risk of squashing or crushing 
      • Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

    Information 

    Tighten separating device only as far as required so that the trailing arm is not damaged!

  2. Press off hydraulic mount -2-  .
    1. 2.1  Place a suitable aid (e.g. foam) under the workshop press as the trailing arm will fall to the floor after you press it out.
    2. 2.2  > VAS 251 413 - Separating device-3-  must be aligned on the trailing arm in such a way that the core of the hydraulic mount is flat against the jaws of the separating device -A-  .
    3. 2.3  > VW411 - Pressure pad-1-  must be centred on the trailing arm.
    4. 2.4  Press off hydraulic mount -2-  .

    1  > VW411 - Pressure pad 
    2  Hydraulic mount
    3  > VAS 251 413 - Separating device 
  3. Press on new  hydraulic mount -1-  using > 9891 - press-on tool  .
    1. 3.1  Guide threaded rod of > 9891 - press-on tool  into the hydraulic mount -1-  and screw it into the threaded bore on the trailing arm.

  4. Align hydraulic mount with the trailing arm according to the position marking -A-  .

  5. Fit pressure piece -2-  at the centre and slowly press hydraulic mount -3-  on as far as it will go by screwing on the nut -1-  in -direction of arrow-  .

  6. > 9891 - Press-on tool  must now be removed.
  7. Fit stop washer -1-  .
    1. 7.1  Position stop washer -1-  .
    2. 7.2  Screw in and tighten screw -2-  .

      > Tightening torque 95 Nm (70 ftlb.)
