Install Upper Trailing Arm

Information 

The help of another person is required.

1. Install upper trailing arm -1- 
   1. 1.1  Position trailing arm -1-  .
   2. 1.2  Insert new  screws -3-  .
   3. 1.3  Screw on new  nuts -2-  , but do not tighten yet.

      Information 

      Threaded joints must only be tightened in zero position. Otherwise, warping can occur in the bearings.

2. Insert wheel bearing housing in order to move upper trailing arm to zero position. Lift the wheel suspension to zero position using > VAS 6931 - lifting transmission and gearbox jack  > Zero position (shown on rear axle as an example)  .

   Measure zero position (vehicle height) from lower edge of wing to centre of axle.

3. Tighten -1-  threaded joint for upper trailing arm.
   1. 3.1  Tighten nuts -2-  and counter at screws -3-  .

      > Tightening torque 50 Nm (36.9 ftlb.) 

      > Torque angle + 120 °
