Disassembling Front Axle Carrier

Information 

Differences in cooling system

• Coolant hoses for high-voltage system installed together under the luggage compartment liner only in model year 2020 vehicles  .
• From model year 2021, a coolant distributor for the high-voltage system replaces the hose system in all Taycan vehicles  .

Information 

The help of another person is required for this work.

1. Remove front wheel bearing housing.

   > 405019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT WHEEL BEARING HOUSING  - section on "Removing"

   1. 1.1  Remove the air-spring strut front or front spring strut, depending on equipment, and set it aside.

      > 433019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AIR-SPRING STRUT FRONT - section on "Removing"

      > 408519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SPRING STRUT  - section on "Removing"

2. Remove lower trailing arm.

   > 401719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LOWER TRAILING ARM  - section on "Removing"

3. Remove accessories.

   Holder

   1. 3.1  Unscrew screws -1-  .
   2. 3.2  Remove holder -2-  and support -3-  .
4. Remove power steering.

   > 489019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING POWER STEERING - section on "Removing"

5. Remove mounting saddle -4-  .

   Bearing block

   1. 5.1  Unscrew screws -1-  .
   2. 5.2  Unscrew screws -2-  .
   3. 5.3  Remove mounting saddle -4-  from subframe -3-  .
6. Install the subframe -3-  .

   Subframe

   1. 6.1  Unscrew nuts -2-  .
   2. 6.2  Pull out screws -1-  .
   3. 6.3  Remove subframe -3-  from front axle -2-  .
