Loosening Front Brake Calliper
Removal of brake calliper
- Paint defects on brake calliper
→ Proceed with care when setting back the brake pads.
→ Protect the paintwork on the brake calliper from damage using a suitable cloth.
Information
To gain better access for removal of the brake calliper, turn the steering fully either to the right or left.
Information
Never use power tools (impact bolter) for loosening and securing the brake calliper on the wheel bearing housing.
- Release and disconnect electric plug connection for brake pad wear indicator -1-
.

- Disconnect front brake line -1-
.
- 2.1 Unclip electric line for ABS -2- from holder -3- .
- 2.2 Unscrew screw -4- .
- 2.3 Unclip spring clamp -5- and disengage front brake line -1- from holder -6- .

Information
If there is a burr on the outside of the brake discs, press the brake pads back using a suitable tool.
Information
If necessary, remove a little brake fluid from the reservoir by suction in order to prevent an overflow when the disc brake pads are pushed back.
- Loosen brake calliper -1-

- 3.1 Unscrew and remove screws -2- .

- Suspend brake calliper -1-

Get another person to help by holding the brake calliper!
- 4.1
Remove brake calliper -1-
and use a tie-wrap -2-
to secure it to the transverse strut -3-
.
Make sure not to damage the brake lines on the brake calliper.

- 4.2 Place cloths or cardboard between the contact surfaces and brake calliper to prevent damage to the paintwork.

Remove brake calliper -1-
and use a tie-wrap -2-
to secure it to the transverse strut -3-
