Installing Brake Shoes
WARNING:
Preloaded or pressurized components
- Risk of injury (e.g. crushing or bruising) when removing and installing springs

→ Do not reach into the danger area.
→ Relieve the tension on components before starting work.
→ Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.
→ Wear protective gloves and goggles.
→ Be very careful when working on the brake system.
- Remove tie-wrap -2-
on the parking brake actuator -1-
.

Information
The complete unit must be centered.
- Install brake shoes -1-
.
- 2.1 Insert adjustment device -5- into brake shoes -1- .
- 2.2 Engage lower tension spring -4- in the brake shoes -1- .
- 2.3 Insert brake shoes -1- with adjustment device -5- .
- 2.4 Engage upper tension spring -3- in the brake shoes -1- .
- 2.5 Insert compression springs -2- , press in slightly using a suitable tool and engage them by turning them 90°.

- Check that the compression springs -1-
are seated correctly.
- 3.1 Illuminate the cut-outs on the wheel bearing housing -2- using a torch and check that the compression springs -1- are engaged.
