Checking Rear Pscb Brake Discs/Wheel Hubs - Lateral Runout
- Secure the adapter plate.
- Check lateral runout of brake discs.
- 2.1
> VAS 6079/1 - Dial Gauge Holder for Brake Discs
must be fitted at a suitable position on the wheel bearing housing. > Dial gauge on brake disc
Dial gauge on brake disc
- 2.2 Fit > VAS 6079 - Dial gauge with slight pretension and measure the lateral runout at the greatest external diameter of the brake disc.
- 2.3
If the lateral runout of the brake discs is greater than > Measured value 0.06 mm
, check lateral runout of the wheel hubs See below
Information
The front face of the wheel hub must not be corroded and must be cleaned if necessary using a polishing cloth.

must be fitted at a suitable position on the wheel bearing housing. > Dial gauge on brake disc
- Check lateral runout of wheel hubs.
- 3.1 Remove rear brake disc.

> VAS 6079/1 - Dial Gauge Holder for Brake Discs
must be fitted at a suitable position on the wheel bearing housing.
Dial gauge on wheel hub
- 3.3 > VAS 6079 - Dial gauge must be fitted with slight preload. Always measure both the external and internal diameter of the front face of the wheel hub.
- 3.4 If the lateral runout of the wheel hubs is greater than > Measured value 0.03 mm , replace the wheel hub. Otherwise, replace the rear brake disc.
