Checking Thickness Of Front Brake Pads
WARNING:
Installation of brake pads with the wrong brake pad quality
- Longer braking distance
- More wear on brake pads
→ Only use the type-specific brake pads listed in the Porsche Parts Information.
→ Replace brake pads on both sides of axle when the brake pad wear indicator light comes on.

With wheels fitted - using a mirror -arrow- :
Visual inspection of brake pads
- Check outside of brake pads for wear through the cut-outs in the rim .
- Check inside of brake pads for wear from below .

Measuring thickness of brake pads
- If brake pad wear is indicated by a warning light, replace warning contact (sensor with line and electric plug connection) .
- Replace warning contacts if the core of the wire is worn .
- If only the plastic part of the warning contact is worn, there is no need to replace it .
- Check front disc brake pads.
- 1.1 Visually inspect inside and outside of disc brake pads for wear and replace them if necessary.
