WM, 963855 Replacing Front Camera: Information

Information 

The exact position of the front camera with respect to the geometric driving axis angle is adapted by calibrating the front camera.

• The  > VAS 6430/1A - Setting Device with Reflector  , > VAS 6430/4 - Lane Departure Warning Calibration Plate  , > VAS 6350A - Calibration unit and a wheel alignment computer are required for the calibration process. 

Information 

• Vehicles with front axle lift system: Set the front axle lift system to "lower". 
• Vehicles with adjustable chassis: Set the chassis to "normal" (medium height). 
• The vehicle must be on a level surface. 

The front camera must be re-calibrated in the following situations:

• When replacing the front camera
• When removing and installing or replacing the windscreen
• When chassis settings are adjusted

1. Before calibrating the front camera, a basic initial measurement must be performed.

   > 449503 PERFORMING FRONT + REAR SUSPENSION ALIGNMENT

2. Set up adjustment device > VAS 6430/1A - Setting Device with Reflector  with > VAS 6430/3 - ACC reflector mirror  and align it parallel to the vehicle transverse axis.
