Adjusting Rear Axle Toe

Information 

• The new special tool > T90009 - insert tool  is required for adjusting the toe on the rear axle.

1. Removing rear underbody cover.

   > 519419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR UNDERBODY COVER - information on "Removing"

2. Remove strut (front section).

   > 421319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING STRUT - information on "Removing"

3. Remove cover on lower control arm.

   > 427819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COVER - information on "Removing".

   Tool information: 

4. Fit > T90009 - insert tool  into the opening → on the rear axle housing -1-  .

5. Position of > T90009 - insert tool-1-  on eccentric screw -2-  .

   1. 5.1  For loosening, use > VAS 261 019 - ratchet ring wrench socket, a/f 19  for the insert tool > Ratchet ring wrench socket, a/f 19  .

6. Adjust rear axle toe.
   1. 6.1  Check toe value.

      > WM, 4495TW CONVERSION TABLE FOR WHEEL ALIGNMENT VALUES 

   2. 6.2  Loosen nut -1-  using the specified tool.
   3. 6.3  Turn toe eccentric adjuster -2-  to adjust the toe.

      > WM, 4495TW CONVERSION TABLE FOR WHEEL ALIGNMENT VALUES 

   4. 6.4  Tighten nut -1-  using > T90009 - insert tool  and > VAS 261 019 - ratchet ring wrench socket, SW19  . > Tightening torque 100 Nm (74 ftlb.) 
   5. 6.5  Check toe value again.
