Installing Tie-Rod Ball

Information 

Once PDCC is ready for operation, chassis adjustments can be made. To avoid injury/crushing, only work near the anti-roll bar, lower trailing arms and bellows of the steering gear without establishing operational readiness and always allow for the run-on time of 60 seconds.

The procedure for removing and installing is described for one side as an example. The procedure for the other side is almost identical.

1. Secure tie-rod ball -1-  to tie rod -2-  .
   1. 1.1  Screw on tie-rod ball -1-  by the number of turns you wrote down.
   2. 1.2  Match position of tie-rod ball -1-  with the marking.
   3. 1.3  Counter tie-rod ball -1-  at the flattened areas -Arrows-  using a suitable open-ended wrench.
   4. 1.4  Tighten lock nut -3-  .

      > Tightening torque 90 Nm (67 ftlb.)

2. Secure tie-rod ball -1-  to wheel bearing housing -2-  .
   1. 2.1  Position tie-rod ball -1-  in wheel bearing housing -2-  .
   2. 2.2  Fit and tighten nut -3-  .

      > Tightening torque 85 Nm (63 ftlb.)
