Loosening Main Wire Harness In The Luggage Compartment (Front)

NOTE: Incorrect handling of main wire harness 
  • Risk of damage to lines 

    → The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

    → The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

    → If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

  1. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for front KESSY/PAS antenna.

    > 966719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT KESSY/PAS ANTENNA

  2. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for reservoir.

    > 194019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING RESERVOIR

  3. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for alarm siren.

    > 966519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ALARM SIREN

  4. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for hydraulic unit.

    > 453019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HYDRAULIC UNIT

  5. Release and detach electric plug connection on temperature sensor for radiator in low-temperature circuit (TW7).

    > 197819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TEMPERATURE SENSOR

  6. Disconnect main wire harness in front left of luggage compartment -1-  .

    Main wire harness in luggage compartment (front)

    1. 6.1  Unscrew nuts on ground points in front left of engine compartment -2-  .
    2. 6.2  Release and unplug electric plug connections -3-  .
    3. 6.3  Unclip clips -4-  .
    4. 6.4  Unclip holder for connection point -5-  in left of engine compartment -arrow-  .
  7. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for night vision system control unit.

    > 908119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING NIGHT VISION SYSTEM CONTROL UNIT

  8. Release and detach electric plug connection on temperature sensor for condenser in high-temperature circuit (TW11).

    > 197819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TEMPERATURE SENSOR

  9. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on valve (EAV 2).

    > 874919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING VALVE (EAV 2)

  10. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on valve (EAV 3).

    > 874919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING VALVE (EAV 3)

  11. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on valve (EAV 5).

    > 874919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING VALVE (EAV 5)

  12. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for electric passenger compartment heater.

    > 828019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ELECTRIC PASSENGER COMPARTMENT HEATER

  13. Release end disconnect electric plug connection at the high-voltage charger.

    > 279719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING 11 KW HIGH-VOLTAGE CHARGER

    > 279719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING 22 KW HIGH-VOLTAGE CHARGER

  14. Disconnect main wire harness in front right of luggage compartment -1-  .

    1. 14.1  Unscrew nuts on ground points in front right of engine compartment -2-  .
    2. 14.2  Unscrew nut on fuse carrier -3-  .
    3. 14.3  Release and unplug electric plug connections -4-  .
    4. 14.4  Unclip clips -5-  .
