Repairing Antenna Cable In The Telephone Control Unit Area

Information 

The specified disconnection points are recommendations for a possible area that enables disconnection and repair.

1. Detach antenna cable -1-  in telephone control unit -2-  area.

   1. 1.1  Unplug and pull off electric plug connection -3-  on telephone control unit.
   2. 1.2  Detach tie-wrap -4-  .
   3. 1.3  Disconnect damaged area of antenna cable -1-  .

      Information 

      Antenna cable with a multi-pin electric plug connection -2-  cannot be repaired. A repair wire harness must be -1-  used for this.

      The repair wire harness is routed up to the possible connection points for the affected antenna cables and repaired at the connection points.

      Multi-pin connector -3-  must not be opened at plug lock -A-  . The connector is damaged when opened.

2. Prepare repair wire harness for the antenna cable.

   Antenna cable connection points

   1	Pin 1 = Antenna cable for Wi-Fi antenna (mirror base)
   2	Pin 2 = not assigned
   3	Pin 3 = not assigned
   4	PIN 4 = Antenna cable for Wi-Fi antenna (rear shelf)
   5	Electric plug connection
   6	Antenna cable for Wi -Fi antenna (mirror base) at connection point on dashboard, right
   7	Wi-Fi antenna (mirror base)
   8	Wi-Fi antenna (rear shelf)
   9	Telephone control unit
   10	Main wire harness

   1. 2.1  Wind up the sleeve on main wire harness -10-  at marked area -A-  .
   2. 2.2  Determine the associated antenna cables by conducting a continuity test using the shielding and mark the antenna cables, paying attention to the pin assignment:
      • Separation area -A-  : Disconnect Wi-Fi antenna (mirror base) -7-  and Wi-Fi antenna (rear shelf) -8-  .
   3. 2.3  Secure repair wire harness along main wire harness -10-  and shorten it to the required lengths.
3. Fit socket connector and pin connector on antenna cable and repair wire harness.

4. Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
   1. 4.1  Push on electric plug connections until plugs lock perceptibly.
   2. 4.2  Secure antenna cable with a new  tie-wrap.
