Preparing Component - Component With Cut Or Pre-Applied Adhesive Bead

Information 

• The removed windscreen can be reinstalled if there was no prior damage to the windscreen and the windscreen was removed without damage. 

Information 

• The adhesive residues help new adhesive to stick. Keep cut surfaces clean and free of grease and do not clean with cleaning solution. 

1. Remove coarse dirt from the bonding area.
2. Cut back adhesive bead.

   Cutting back adhesive

   1. 2.1 Clean blade of > VAS 861 005 - scrap er set  with isopropanol.
   2. 2.2 Cut back adhesive residue using > VAS 861 005 - scraper set  until a surface coating of adhesive remains.
3. Activate the cut surface once using the activator included in the adhesive set.
   1. 3.1 Apply a light coating of activator to the cut surface in one movement using the applicator brush. Avoid applying two coatings in the same place.

   2. 3.2 Allow the activated cut surface to dry off for 10 minutes.

   3. 3.3 The component must be bonded to the vehicle flange within 2 hours.
