Touching Up Paintwork

1. Remove transport protection.
2. Check the paint on the vehicle for signs of swelling.

If you see signs of swelling of the paint, this can be reduced by applying heat. This can be done as follows:

• Park the vehicle outside on sunny days. The radiation from the sun is sufficient to reduce the swelling effect.
• Move the vehicle into a paint-drying oven if there is one available.
• Treat the affected areas using a hot-air blower.

Applying heat using a hot-air gun:

Do not expose plastic parts and mouldings to excessive heat.

1. Set the hot-air gun to > Temperature 65°C +/- 5°C  .
2. Apply heat uniformly over the problem area.
3. While applying heat, monitor the temperature of the affected area using a temperature gauge. The temperature on the body must not exceed the set value.
4. Continue to apply heat until there is no more swelling to be seen.
