Removing Rear Window

Information
- Observe procedure for removing car windows.
- Switch on ignition and extend the rear spoiler using > 9900 - PIWIS Tester 3 until the rear spoiler is at its highest position.
- Switch off ignition and remove remote control.
- Affix adhesive tape -2-
to the lower left corner of the rear window -1-
on the rear lid.

- Release and unplug electric plug connections -1 to 3-
.

- Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-
on antenna amplifier at the bottom.

- Affix all electric plug connections securely to the rear lid with adhesive tape.
- Remove grommet for wiper motor.
Information
- Increase the fixing force of the suction cup by moistening it if necessary.
- > V.A.G 1344 - Suction Lifter must be attached to the outside of the rear window.
- Unwind the cutting wire and cut it using side cutters > Length 6 m WARNING: Vehicle windows removed and installed incorrectly

→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Always shut off power supply when replacing cutting knife.

- Apply a bead of adhesive from inside out in the area protected by the adhesive tape using the scratch awl.

Guiding cutting wire past electric connection
Countering with an awl
- Make sure not to damage the rear window heating connections when removing the glass with the cutting wire.
- Cut up to just before the connection.
- Slacken the cutting wire.
- Guide the cutting wire past the connection on the inside.
- Counter with an awl.
- Make sure that the cutting wire does not press against the electric connection when cutting the glass.
