Removing Fuel Pump

  • Danger of poisoning or suffocation 
  • Danger of burns to the eyes and skin 

    → Ventilate the work area well.

    → Never ingest or inhale.

    → Read specific information on the Hazard Sheet.

    → Wear personal protective gear.

    → Do not smoke, eat or drink in the work area.

WARNING: Highly inflammable or explosive materials 
  • Danger of fire or explosion 

    → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.

    → Use suction to remove ignitable vapors.

    → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.

    → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.

    → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.

  1. Remove filling line for anti-swirl chamber -1-  .
    1. 1.1 Release quick-connecting lock on filling line for anti-swirl chamber -1-  (-arrow A-  ).
    2. 1.2 Pull off filling line for anti-swirl chamber -1-  (-arrow B-  ) and set it aside.

  2. Remove lines from auxiliary chamber to sucking jet pump -2 and 3-  .
    1. 2.1 Release quick connector -1-  .
    2. 2.2 Disconnect pressure line from auxiliary chamber to sucking jet pump -2-  from the swirl chamber.
    3. 2.3 Disconnect sum line from auxiliary chamber to sucking jet pump -3-  from the swirl chamber.

  3. Unclip sucking jet pump line -1-  from the swirl chamber -arrow-  .

  4. Remove fuel pump.
    1. 4.1 Loosen anti-swirl chamber from the bayonet lock by turning it anti-clockwise -arrow A-  .
    2. 4.2 Place anti-swirl chamber on the side surface -arrow B-  .

    3. 4.3 Release locking lugs -arrows A-  .
    4. 4.4 Guide pump insert -1-  out of the anti-swirl chamber -arrow B-  .
    5. 4.5 Carefully guide the pump insert -1-  out of the fuel tank -arrow C-  . Do not soil the interior of the vehicle while doing this.
