Installing Oil Guide Housing

- Replace seal.
Information
To prevent dirt from getting into the lubrication system, open parts of the engine must be covered.
- Remove old sealant and residual sealant from the grooves and sealing faces on the oil guide housing and crankcase. Use a rotating plastic brush, for example, to do this.

Sealing faces must be free of oil and grease.
- Clean the sealing faces of the new oil guide housing.

Check best-before date on the new sealant.
- Cut off the nozzle on the tube at the front marking (nozzle diameter is approx. 2.5 mm).

- Pull off dowel sleeves -1-

- Apply sealant to the lower chain housing cover.
- 5.1 Apply a bead of sealing compound -1- .
- 5.2 Apply sealant at the joints between the crankcase and lower chain housing cover -2- .

Information
- The bead of sealant must not be thicker than the specified thickness because if it is, excess sealant can get into the oil pan and block the strainer in the oil pump.
- Sealant bead thickness: 3.0 mm.
- Components must be installed within 5 minutes of applying the sealant.
- Apply a bead of sealant -arrow-
to the clean sealing face of the oil guide housing.

- Carefully fit oil guide housing and position it at an angle from below on the sealing face on the crankcase and lower timing chain cover.
- Screw in and tighten screws -1 to 21-
in ascending sequence > Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)

- Screw in and tighten screws -23 to 30-
in ascending sequence > Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)

- 10.1 Plug in electric plug connection -1- until it locks securely.
- 10.2 Install wire harness -2- (-arrows- ).

- Install oil intake tube -1-

- 11.1 Install oil intake tube -1- with a new seal on the oil pump.
- 11.2 Screw in and tighten screws -2- > Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
