Preliminary Work

  • Electric shock

    → Only appropriately trained and authorized persons may work on high-voltage vehicles and components.

    → Required qualification: High voltage technician or high voltage expert.

    → Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.

    → Always use insulated tools, such as an > VAS 6883 - insulated tool set  when working on these parts.

    → Observe general warning notices for working on the high-voltage system.

  1. If the HV battery control unit must be replaced, read out values before removal using > 9900 - PIWIS Tester 3  .

    > 279455 REPLACING CONTROL UNIT FOR HV BATTERY 

  2. Observe warning notes.

  3. Read instructions for performing maintenance tasks on e-hybrid vehicles.

    > 2X00IN ISOLATION FROM SUPPLY PRIOR TO PERFORMING MAINTENANCE TASKS ON E-HYBRID VEHICLES

  4. Remove side trim panel for rear luggage compartment.

    > 700319 Removing and installing side trim panel for rear luggage compartment 

  5. Isolate the high-voltage system from the power supply.

  6. Complete documentation.

    > 2X00IN TEST LOG: VERIFYING ABSENCE OF ELECTRIC CHARGE

  7. Remove high-voltage charger.

    > 279719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HIGH-VOLTAGE CHARGER 

  8. Remove PASM control unit.

    > 431619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING PASM CONTROL UNIT
