Converting Reconditioned Engine

Information
- All components listed must be removed from the old engine and installed on the new engine.
- Seals and O-rings must be replaced.
- Aluminium screws and torque angle-tightened screws must be replaced.
- All stoppers must be removed from the new engine.
Information
For tightening torques, tightening sequence and assembly overviews for the engine and transmission:
- Group 1:
> 1X00IN Technical values
- Group 2:
> 2X00IN Technical values
- Group 3:
> 3X00IN Technical values
- Convert bracket for torque support -3-
.
- 1.1 Loosen and unscrew screws -5- .
- 1.2 Move bracket -3- into installation position and fit and tighten screws -5- .
> Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
Torque support - V8 biturbo
- Convert engine carrier -2-
at the left and right.
- 2.1 Unscrew screws -1- and remove engine carrier -2- .
- 2.2 Move engine carrier -2-
into installation position and fit and tighten new screws -1-
.
> Initial tightening 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)
> Final tightening + 90°
Right engine carrier
- Convert coolant pipes -4-
.
- 3.1 Unscrew screw -3 and 5- , loosen line clamps and pull off coolant pipes -4- .
- 3.2 Connect coolant pipes -4- and secure with a line clamp. Fit and tighten screw -3 and 5- .
- 3.3 Convert stoppers -1- on coolant pipes -2- .
Converting coolant pipes
- Convert moulded hose on throttle valve -1-
and coolant hose -2-
.
- 4.1 Convert moulded hose on throttle valve -1- .
- 4.2 Convert coolant hose -2- .
Converting moulded hose and coolant hose
- Convert heat shield for high-pressure pump -3- for cylinder bank 1 and 2.
- Convert oil dipstick.
- Convert all-wheel final drive.
- Convert drive belt with belt tensioner and deflection roller.
