Isolate high-voltage system from power supply.
> 2X00IN ISOLATION FROM SUPPLY PRIOR TO PERFORMING MAINTENANCE TASKS ON E-HYBRID VEHICLES
Drain refrigerant.
> 870317 DRAINING AND FILLING REFRIGERANT R1234YF

> 870317 DRAINING AND FILLING REFRIGERANT R134A
Disconnect the battery ground strap.
> 270619 REMOVING AND REINSTALLING BATTERY
Remove front trim panel (engine compartment).
> 700219 REMOVING AND REINSTALLING FRONT TRIM PANEL (ENGINE COMPARTMENT)
Remove engine cover.
> 108319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE COVER (DESIGN COVER) (V8 BITURBO)
Remove struts.
> 408619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING STRUT (A-STRUT)
Disconnect suction hoses -1- . Open the clamps -2- and pull off suction hoses.

Remove air-cleaner cowl.

Remove air guide at the radiator frame.
1. 9.1 Remove clips -2- .
2. 9.2 Remove air guide -1- by pulling it upwards.

Remove cover for front underbody.

Remove front-axle support.

Remove front wheel housing liners.

WARNING:
Refrigerant
- Danger of freezing
  → Avoid contact with refrigerant.
  
  → Wear personal protective gear.
  
  → Observe the safety regulations for working on air-conditioned vehicles and handling refrigerant.
  
  → Observe the safety regulations for extraction and filling systems.
  
  → Observe the instructions for repairing air-conditioning systems and storing spare parts.
NOTE:
Opened refrigerant system for repairs.
- Moisture penetrated into the refrigerant system.
- Risk of contaminating the refrigerant circuit.
- Risk of saturation and irreparable damage to desiccator.
- Irreparable damage to the desiccator can damage the compressor and evaporator.
→ The desiccator must be replaced if the air humidity is high and if the refrigerant circuit is left open for a long time.
Information
- Open connections and lines must be closed off using suitable stoppers or caps.
Disconnect air-conditioning lines -1- and -2- at the condenser.
1. 13.1 Loosen and unscrew screws -3- using > VAS 6928 - Socket wrench set, 39-piece .

Remove exhaust system.
> 260119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING EXHAUST SYSTEM
Remove rear cardan shaft.
> 393519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR CARDAN SHAFT
Loosen moulded hose -1- at the bottom on both sides of the charge-air cooler.
1. 16.1 Loosen screw-type clamp -bottom arrow - and pull off pressure hose.

WARNING:
Hot fluid
- Danger of scalding
→ Let the fluid cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
Drain coolant.
1. 17.1 High-temperature cooling system:
  > 193817 DRAINING AND FILLING COOLANT (INCLUDES BLEEDING)
2. 17.2 Low-temperature cooling system: Loosen clamps -arrows- and pull off coolant lines -1- and -2- .
3. 17.3 Collect emerging coolant.

Disconnect ground cable -1- and -2- on the front right longitudinal member.
1. 18.1 Unscrew nuts -3- and remove ground cable -1- and -2- .

Loosen high-voltage lines from high-voltage battery to the power electronics.

Disconnect high-voltage lines on the air-conditioning compressor.
