Adhesive tape markings on the workshop floor

• Before moving the unit elevating platform, mark the position of the wheels on the workshop floor with adhesive tape. This makes it easier to position the platform again for re-installation. 

1. Guide the engine in under the vehicle.
   1. 1.1 Move the engine under the vehicle using > VAS 6832 - Master Gear unit elevating platform  .
   2. 1.2 Position the unit elevating platform at the positions marked during removal.
   3. 1.3 Guide the engine up into the engine compartment using the lifting equipment.
2. Secure coolant lines -1-  and -2-  at the front right.
   1. 2.1 Raise the engine slightly.
   2. 2.2 Connect coolant lines -1-  and -2-  .
   3. 2.3 Secure coolant line -1-  in holder -3-  .
   4. 2.4 Secure clamps -3-  using > VAS 6891 - Spring Band Clamp Pliers  .

3. Secure the front-axle carrier and transmission support.
   1. 3.1 Fit all screws.
   2. 3.2 Tighten screws on the front-axle carrier.

   3. 3.3 Tighten screws on the transmission support.

      > 3X00IN Technical values, transmission 

4. Secure the strut -1-  .

5. Remove wheel hub holder -1-  at both sides on the wheel hub.

6. Secure the spring strut to the lower wishbone -1-  .

7. Secure the wheel carrier to the upper wishbone.

8. Secure the front brake calliper to the wheel carrier.

    Connect electric connectors on the pressure sensor at the left and right to the throttle valve.

30. Secure coolant lines -1-  and -2-  at the coolant pump -3-  .

    • Replace O-rings on the cooling system. 
    • Clean plug connection and coolant hoses before assembly. 
    • Remove stoppers before fitting the coolant lines and hoses. 
31. Secure coolant line -1-  to the top of the radiator -2-  .

    1. 33.1 Check O-rings and replace them if damaged.
    2. 33.2 Coat O-rings with refrigerant oil before fitting them.
