Subsequent Work

Information 

The instructions in the PIWIS Tester  take precedence and in the event of a discrepancy, these are the instructions that must be followed. A discrepancy may arise with later software versions.

  1. Install electric motor with decoupler.

    > 279019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ELECTRIC MOTOR WITH DECOUPLER

  2. Fit double clutch transmission.

    > 373427 REMOVING AND MOUNTING DOUBLE-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION (V6 HYBRID) 

    > Removing and mounting double clutch transmission (V8 Hybrid) 

  3. Maintenance of vehicle data (Only for model year 2017) 
    1. 3.1 Connect PIWIS Tester and switch on ignition.
    2. 3.2 Start the diagnostic application.
    3. 3.3 Select Additional menu by pressing F7.
    4. 3.4 Select the Maintenance of vehicle data  function. Press F12 until PR numbers appears in the Value group  column.
    5. 3.5 SP7 - Repair data record for main transmission  must be selected. Press F12 to continue.
    6. 3.6 Save the values by pressing F8. Wait until the message Modified values have been buffered  appears.
    7. 3.7 Press F12 to switch to Log management. Open the log by pressing F10 and check that vehicle equipment SP7 - Repair data record for main transmission  is displayed.
  4. Program the transmission.
    1. 4.1 In the overview, select the required PDK control unit.
    2. 4.2 Coding/programming  must be selected.
    3. 4.3 Automatic programming  must now be selected. (The DME and transmission control units are then programmed and coded.)
    4. 4.4 Switch ignition off and then on again.
    5. 4.5 In the overview, select the required PDK control unit.
    6. 4.6 Select the Maintenance/repairs  menu.
    7. 4.7 Select Calibration (transmission with part replacement).  (Read the warnings and test prerequisites displayed on the Tester.)
    8. 4.8 Set the engine and transmission to the specified nominal values shown on the PIWIS Tester.
    9. 4.9 Perform calibration.
  5. Adapt the decoupler.

    > 279055 REPLACING ELECTRIC MOTOR

    Control unit: Engine electronics (DME)

    Tester path: Maintenance/repairs/Decoupler commissioning with part replacement

  6. Perform a test drive.
