Assembling Front Drive Shaft

- Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
- 1.1 Replace circlips.
- 1.2 When fitting the bellows, the drive shaft must be lubricated with drive shaft grease.
Information
Do not position brass mandrel on the 3 rollers of the joint!
- 1.3 Fit the joint onto the drive shaft as far as it will go by tapping gently with a hammer.
- 1.4 Apply new grease (see Parts Information) on the joints and bellows.

The spindle of the > V.A.G 1682A - Clamping pliers must be clean and oiled.
If this is not the case, this can result in inaccuracies in the closing force of the hose clamps.
- 1.5 Fit new hose clamps and tighten to the specified tightening torque using > V.A.G 1682A - Clamping pliers .
