Removing Connecting Link For Anti-Roll Bar

- Remove control arm spoiler -2-
.
Control arm spoiler on trailing arm
- 1.1 Unscrew fastening screw -1- .
- 1.2 Pull control arm spoiler lug off the shock absorber threaded joint.
- Remove connecting link -1-
on both sides of the vehicle from the lower trailing arm.
Mounting for connecting link
WARNING: Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly- Risk of crushing
- Risk of damage to components
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).
- 2.1 Support the wheel bearing housing using > VAS 6931 - Transmission and Engine Jack .
- 2.2 Remove threaded joint -2- for the connecting link.
- Remove connecting link -1-
at the anti-roll bar.
Mounting for connecting link
- 3.1 Unscrew fastening nut -3-
and counter at the ball pin of the connecting link.WARNING: Preloaded or pressurised components
- Risk of squashing or bruising
→ Do not reach into the danger area.
→ Relieve the tension on components before starting work.
→ Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.
Information
Only for coil springs:
Coil spring is pressurised!
- > VAS 6931 - Transmission and Engine Jack must not be lowered fully.
- > VAS 6931 - Transmission and Engine Jack must not be removed until the connecting link has been installed.
- Risk of squashing or bruising
- 3.2 > VAS 6931 - Transmission and Engine Jack must be lowered as far as required until the anti-roll bar can be turned downwards.
- 3.3 Turn the anti-roll bar down as far as required so that the ball pin of the connecting link can be guided out of the bore on the antiroll bar.
- 3.1 Unscrew fastening nut -3-
and counter at the ball pin of the connecting link.
