Installing Expansion Valve

Information 

If the expansion valve is replaced, the remaining refrigerant line must be converted to suit the new expansion valve.

Information 

• Before re-installing the expansion valve, the O-rings on the refrigerant lines must be checked for damage and replaced if necessary. 
• The O-rings on the refrigerant lines must be coated with refrigerant oil. 

Information 

Before re-installing the component, check the O-rings of the refrigerant lines for damage and replace them if necessary.

Coat the O-rings on the refrigerant lines with refrigerant oil.

Close off all refrigerant lines and connections using suitable stoppers during removal.

Do not open the stoppers for the lines and connections until shortly before installation.

1. Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
   1. 1.1 Tighten fastening screws securing expansion valve to evaporator holder to > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)  .
   2. 1.2 Tighten screws securing refrigerant lines to expansion valve to > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)  .
