Replacing Infrared Camera Control Unit

Information 

The PIWIS Tester  instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear on the PIWIS Tester  .

1. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
2. Select the vehicle type if required.
3. In the overview  , press F7 to switch to the Additional menu  .

   The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.

4. Component protection start-up  must now be selected. Follow instructions and procedure. Press F12 to continue.
5. Enter the PPN user name and password  . Press F12 to continue.
6. Allow the Tester to run the procedure.
7. Check the chassis number. Enter the order number. Press F12 to continue.
8. Allow the Tester to run the procedure. Press F12 to continue.
9. The Component protection start-up  message appears. Press F12 to continue.
10. Once the teaching process is completed successfully, the status is displayed:

    e.g. Gateway: Component protection taught

    e.g. PCM 4.0: Component protection taught

    and so on...

    Press F12 to continue.

11. The message "Component protection start-up was successful" appears. Press F12 to continue.
12. Go back to the overview. Press F12 to continue.
13. Select the Infrared camera  control unit in the overview  .
14. Coding/programming  must be selected.
15. Automatic coding  must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
16. The Tester displays the message: Coding successful.
17. Read out the fault memory  . Clear it if necessary.
18. Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
