Installing High-Pressure Pump

Information 

• Replace O-ring. 

1. 1.1 Insert roller tappet into the cylinder head.
2. 1.2 Turn the crankshaft until the roller tappet is set to the lowest point.
3. 1.3 Fit union nut -1-  by hand.
   1. 1.3.1 Coat thread on union nuts with Microgleit DF 977S. Observe drying time of at least 5 minutes before fitting. 
4. 1.4 Fit union nut -1-  by hand.
5. 1.5 Screw high-pressure pump -2-  into position.
6. 1.6 Fit union nut -3-  by hand.
   1. 1.6.1 Coat thread on union nuts with Microgleit DF 977S. Observe drying time of at least 5 minutes before fitting. 
7. 1.7 Fit screws -4-  for the high-pressure pump.
8. 1.8 Fit screw -5-  with holder by hand.
9. 1.9 Press down the high-pressure pump and tighten screws -4-  .

   > Tightening torque 12 Nm (9 ftlb.) 

10. 1.10 Tighten screw -5-  .

    > Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) 

11. 1.11 Tighten union nuts -1-  and -3-  .

    > Initial tightening 8 Nm (6 ftlb.) 

    > Final tightening + 50°

Tightening sequence for high-pressure lines

1. 3.1 Position high-pressure line -2-  .
2. 3.2 Fit union nut -1-  by hand.
3. 3.3 Tighten union nut -1-  > Initial tightening 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)  + > Final tightening + 50°

Electric plug connection

1. 6.1 Position heat shield -1-  .
2. 6.2 Screw in and tighten screws -2-  > Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)  + > Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
