Only for vehicles with Otto particle filter (OPF)
- Carry out particle filter regeneration.
> Regenerating particle filter
All vehicles
- Adapt sensor wheel.
- Only for R4:
- 3.1 Connect PIWIS Tester to the vehicle.
- 3.2 Select engine electronics (DME) control unit.
- 3.3 Select the Maintenance/repairs tab.
- 3.4 Perform sensor wheel adaptation.
- 3.5 Follow the instructions on the PIWIS Tester.
Information
- After removing, installing or replacing, perform the "Sensor wheel adaptation" function using the PIWIS Tester.
- To actively teach the adaptation, perform an adaptation drive together with another person.
- Only for V6T and V8T:
- 4.1 Select engine electronics (DME) control unit.
- 4.2 Select the Maintenance/repairs tab.
- 4.3 Perform sensor wheel adaptation reset.
- 4.4 Perform sensor wheel adaptation with an adaptation drive.
- 4.4.1 Get a second person to check the PIWIS Tester while you are driving.
- 4.4.2 Select engine electronics (DME) control unit.
- 4.4.3 Select the "Actual values/input signals" tab.
- 4.4.4 Select the "General" group.
- 4.4.5 Select the actual value "Engine speed and engine torque" .
- 4.4.6 Select the "Misfiring" group.
- 4.4.7 Note the actual value "Segment adaptation for rough running, status"
.
Value "0" = adapted and (value "2" = not adapted)
"Actual value segment adaptation for running smoothness" is not displayed on some vehicles and cannot be checked.
"Sender wheel adaptation" must still be performed according to specifications.
- 4.4.8 Perform adaptation driving until Actual value segment adaptation for rough running, status
displays "0"
=> Adaptation complete.
A journey must contain at least 11 cycles (acceleration => thrust) until the adaptation status changes.
- 4.4.9 Set the operating temperature of the combustion engine.
- 4.4.10 Set driving mode "Normal" (for Hybird vehicles "Hybrid Auto") with "Manual" transmission mode in 2nd gear.
- 4.4.11 Engine speed => 1600 and 2400 rpm.
- 4.4.12 Generate a minimal load (50 to 150 Nm/37 to 111 ftlb.) => slight acceleration or slight uphill driving for at least three seconds each.
- 4.4.13 Overrun phase (accelerator pedal not pressed, no fuel injection) for at least two seconds.
