Massage Air Cushion - Check

Information 

If a relevant fault is entered in the fault memory, Guided Fault Finding prompts you to replace the faulty air cushion using a pressure reservoir from > VAS 6618A - Pneumatic repair set  .

Information 

Subsequently attached joiners must never be opened again.

If a pneumatic line, on which a joiner is already used, has to be disconnected, the new joiner must be positioned 230 mm from the existing joiner.

1. Mark pneumatic lines -1-  to -7-  for the relevant connection.

2. Always cut pneumatic lines at a point 180 mm away from the solenoid valve block -1-  using > VAS 6228 - Cutting Pliers  .

   Fitting connection sleeves:

   • Insert pneumatic lines into connection sleeves -1- (-arrows A-).

     Removing connection sleeves:

     • Press unlocking rings -arrows B- and pull off pneumatic lines at the same time -arrows C-.

3. Fit connection sleeve -2-  from > VAS 6618A - Pneumatic repair set  on pneumatic lines.
4. Connect pressure reservoir VAS 6618/10 -3-  from > VAS 6618A - Pneumatic repair set  to the line for the air cushion.

5. Erase the fault memory and perform drive link test on the relevant air cushion using > 9900 - PIWIS Tester 3  .
6. Carry out a leak test and read out the fault memory.
   1. 6.1 If a fault is not stored in the fault memory, the air cushion is faulty and must be replaced.
   2. 6.2 If a fault is still stored in the fault memory, the fault is not caused by the air cushion.
7. Remove pressure reservoir from the connection sleeve.

   Information 

   Pneumatic lines must not be disconnected directly at the components.

   Spare parts are supplied with short line lengths, which must be connected to existing pneumatic lines by means of joiners.

   Protect pneumatic lines and joiners from dirt and contamination.

   Pneumatic lines must not be heated in order to connected them to joiners.

   Sliding compound must not be used for connecting to joiners.

   The repaired pneumatic line must be the same length as the old line following repairs - tolerance +/- 10 mm.

8. Cut the connection sleeve off the pneumatic line using > VAS 6228 - Cutting Pliers  .
9. Check all pneumatic lines.
10. Connect pneumatic lines on the correctly functioning air cushion.
    1. 10.1 Slide pneumatic lines -1-  using pliers 6618/1 -2-  from > VAS 6618A - Pneumatic repair set  onto the joiners -3-  from both sides.
    2. 10.2 Pull on the pneumatic lines -1-  to check that they have engaged correctly.
