Checking Axial Play Of Crankshaft

  1. Fit dial gauge.
    1. 1.1 > VW387 - Universal dial gauge bracket-2-  must be fitted on the cylinder block.
    2. 1.2 > VAS 6079 - Dial gauge  must be inserted in the > VW387 - universal dial gauge bracket  .
    3. 1.3 > VAS 6079 - Dial gauge  must then be fitted on the crankshaft web -1-  .
    4. 1.4 Press crankshaft web -1-  by hand against the > VAS 6079 - dial gauge  (-arrow-  ) and set > VAS 6079 - dial gauge  to zero.
    5. 1.5 Press crankshaft web -1-  by hand away from the > VAS 6079 - dial gauge  (-arrow-  ) and read off the value.
