Removing Actuating Cylinder For Rear Lid

CAUTION: Incorrect handling of actuating cylinders 
  • Actuating cylinders can burst 
  • Risk of eye injuries 
  • Risk of bruising 

    → The actuating cylinders must be in idle state in order to remove them.

    → Open the lid fully.

    → Ensure the end position of the lid manually.

    → Secure the lid after removing the actuating cylinders to prevent it from closing accidentally.

    → Do not use force when opening the actuating cylinders due to the high internal pressure.

  1. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -2-  .

  2. Loosen rubber sleeve -3-  and guide out electric wire harness.

    Information 

    The help of another person is required to prevent the rear lid from closing accidentally.

  3. Loosen actuating cylinder on the lid side.
    1. 3.1 Variant 1: 

      Release safety clip on the lid -1-  using a slotted screwdriver -arrow A-  and pull actuating cylinder -2-  off the ball pin -arrow B-  .

    2. 3.2 Variant 2: 

      Release safety clip on the lid -1-  using a slotted screwdriver -arrow A-  and pull actuating cylinder -2-  off the ball pin -arrow B-  .

    3. Release safety clip on the body using a suitable tool, pull actuating cylinder off the ball pin and remove it.
