Installing Exhaust System

- Installing exhaust system
- 1.1 Position exhaust system on a transmission jack and secure it with a tension strap -arrows- .
Securing exhaust system on transmission jack (similar to illustration)
- Fit and tighten screws -1-
on the rear silencer holders -2-
.
> Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
Rear silencer holders (figure shows V8 Turbo)
- Loosen secured decoupling elements -1-
.
Loosening decoupling elements
- Fit exhaust system on transmission support.
- 4.1 Fit and tighten screws -4-
on transmission support holders -3-
.
> Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
- 4.2 Attach new ball clamps -2-
to the connection between the catalytic converters and front silencer.
- 4.2.1 Tighten ball clamps -2-

> Tightening torque 35 Nm (26 ftlb.)
- 4.2.1 Tighten ball clamps -2-

Exhaust system on transmission support
- 4.1 Fit and tighten screws -4-
on transmission support holders -3-
.
- Fit holder for centre exhaust system mount -2- .
- For vehicles with sports exhaust system:
Connect vacuum hose -1-
to vacuum unit for exhaust flap -2-
.
Vacuum hose for exhaust system
- Plug in cable plugs -1-
on actuators -2-

Actuator for exhaust flap
- For vehicles with rear axle steering:
Fit strut -4-
between the rear silencers.
> Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
