Measuring Front Brake Disc - Lateral Runout (Wheel Hub)

Information
The front face of the wheel hub must not be corroded.
The front face of the wheel hub must be cleaned using a fine emery cloth if necessary.
- Measure lateral runout of the wheel hub.
Dial gauge on wheel hub
- 1.1 > 9510/1 - Adapter plate-2-
must be fitted on the wheel hub. Then, fit and tighten wheel bolts.

- 1.2 Secure > VAS 6079 - Dial gauge-1- at a suitable position on the wheel suspension using > VAS 6079/1 - dial gauge holder for brake discs .
- 1.3 Adjust > VAS 6079 - dial gauge-1- so that the > VAS 6079 - dial gauge-1- is touching the outer edge of the wheel hub and is slightly pre-tensioned.
- 1.4 Zero the > VAS 6079 - dial gauge-1- , slowly turn the wheel hub with the > 9510/1 - adapter plate-2- by one full turn and check the deflection of the > VAS 6079 - dial gauge-1- .
- 1.1 > 9510/1 - Adapter plate-2-
must be fitted on the wheel hub. Then, fit and tighten wheel bolts.
- If the lateral runout of the wheel hub is outside of the tolerance range:
Replace wheel hub.

Maximum lateral runout of the wheel hub: 0.02 mm - Only
if the lateral runout of the brake disc is outside of the tolerance range, but the lateral runout of the wheel hub is within the tolerance range:
Replace front brake disc.
