Removing Turbocharger

NOTIFICATION
Dirt and contamination
- Risk of damage to units or components
- → Protect components from dirt and contamination.
- → Clean or replace dirty components.
Information
Clean all line connections carefully and close them off or cover them.
Suitable stoppers must be used for closing off the line connections.
- Disconnect line connections and electric plug connection.

Disconnect oil supply line -3-

Line connections for turbocharger
- 1.1.1 Unscrew screw on oil supply line -4- .
- 1.1.2 Disconnect oil supply line -3- from the turbocharger.
- 1.1.3 Soak up escaping oil and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.

Disconnect coolant lines -1-
.
- 1.2.1 Unscrew screws for coolant lines -2- .
- 1.2.2 Disconnect coolant lines -1- from the turbocharger.
- 1.2.3 Soak up escaping coolant and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.
- 1.3 Disconnect vacuum line -5- from the vacuum unit and set it aside.
- 1.4 Release and disconnect electric plug connection for recirculating air valve -6- .

Disconnect oil supply line -3-

- Loosen turbocharger -1-
from primary catalytic converter -2-
or particle filter.
Turbocharger on primary catalytic converter
- 2.1 Loosen V-band clamp -3- .
- 2.2 Carefully loosen V-band clamp -3- from the turbocharger flange -1- using a hammer and wedge.
- Disconnect active carbon filter line -1-

Active carbon filter line
- 3.1 Unscrew screw for active carbon filter line -2- .
- 3.2 Pull off active carbon filter line -1- in -direction of arrow- and set it aside.
- Remove turbocharger -1-

Turbocharger
- 4.1 Unscrew nuts on exhaust pipes -2- and loosen V-band clamp on exhaust pipe -3- .
- 4.2 Guide turbocharger -1- and exhaust pipe -4- out of the clamps -5- and remove them in an upward direction.
