Installing Turbocharger

Information 

• > Removing - and installing recirculating air valve 

• If you are replacing the turbocharger, the existing recirculating air valve must be used. 

1. Replace oil return line -1-  .

   Oil return line

   1. 1.1  Remove pin -2-  and pull off old oil return line -1-  .
   2. 1.2  Insert new oil return line -1-  and secure with a new pin -2-  .
2. Install turbocharger -1-  .

   Turbocharger

   1. 2.1  Fit new seals on the exhaust flange
   2. 2.2  Position turbocharger -1-  and exhaust pire -4-  in the clamps -5-  and make sure that the oil return line is fitted correctly.
   3. 2.3  Replace V-band clamp on exhaust pipe -3-  including seal and fit and tighten new V-band clamp on exhaust pipe -3-  .
      • 20 (15 ftlb.) 11 Nm 
   4. 2.4  Replace nuts on exhaust pipes -2-  .
   5. 2.5  Screw on and tighten new nuts on exhaust pipes -2-  .
      • Tightening torque 25 Nm (19 ftlb.) 
3. Install active carbon filter line -1-  .

   Active carbon filter line

   1. 3.1  Replace O-ring.
   2. 3.2  Insert active carbon filter line -1-  .
   3. 3.3  Fit and tighten screw for active carbon filter line -2-  .
      • Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) 
4. Secure turbocharger -1-  on primary catalytic converter -2-  or particle filter.

   Turbocharger on primary catalytic converter

   1. 4.1  Replace seal and V-band clamp -3-  .
   2. 4.2  Position catalytic converter and fit and tighten V-band Clamp -3-  .
      • Tightening torque 7 Nm (5 ftlb.) 
5. Connect line connections and electric plug connection.

   Line connections for turbocharger

   1. 5.1  Secure coolant lines -1-  .
      1. 5.1.1  Replace O-rings.
      2. 5.1.2  Insert coolant lines -1-  .
      3. 5.1.3  Screw in and tighten screws for coolant lines -2-  .
         • Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) 
   2. 5.2  Secure oil supply line -3-  .
      1. 5.2.1  Replace O-ring.
      2. 5.2.2  Insert oil supply line -3-  .
      3. 5.2.3  Screw in and tighten screw for oil supply line -4-  .
         • Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) 
   3. 5.3  Connect vacuum line -5-  to vacuum unit.
   4. 5.4  Connect and lock electric plug connection for recirculating air valve -6-  .
