1. Remove all spark plugs.

   Information 

   The dead centre finder or "cylinder pipe" consists of a glass tube (inspection glass) with a piston -1-  , hose and a rubber cone -2-  .

   Information 

   The piston in the inspection glass is pressed upwards in the compression cycle so that it moves back down again immediately upon reaching TDC position Piston in TDC position.  The piston in the inspection glass stays down in overlapping TDC position.

2. Position cylinder 1 at ignition TDC and remove tool (dead centre finder).

   Tool setup - dead centre finder

   1. 2.1  Press the rubber cone onto the spark plug hole of the first cylinder. The inspection glass must either be held by another person Tool setup - dead centre finder  or secured vertically at a clearly visible position using a magnet.
   2. 2.2  Turn the engine in direction of rotation at the crankshaft until the cylinder to be tested is at ignition TDC.
