Installing Double Clutch Transmission

Check that the locking element of the starter -1- is inserted correctly and move it into installation position if necessary -Arrows-.

Information

You will need a second mechanic to help you with this step.
Install double clutch transmission.
1. 2.1 Carefully guide the double clutch transmission into the vehicle from below. Make sure not to pinch or damage any components.
2. 2.2 Fit double clutch transmission on the engine.
Secure locking cable on double clutch transmission.
> 371319 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING LOCKING CABLE

Transmission support
1. 4.1 Align transmission support -1- according to the markings.
2. 4.2 Fit and tighten screws for transmission support 2 .
  > Tightening - torque 70 Nm (52 ftlb.)
> T40173A - Gearbox support and > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack can new be removed.
Secure double clutch transmission.
1. 6.1 Screw in screws on double clutch transmission as far as they will go by hand
2. 6.2 Tighten screws on double clutch transmission -1 and 2- .
  > Initial - tightening 30 Nm (22 ftlb.)
  
  > Final tightening + 105°
3. 6.3 Tighten screw -3- double clutch transmission
  > Initial - tightening 30 Nm (22 ftlb.)
  
  > Final tightening + 105°
4. 6.4 Tighten screw -5- double clutch transmission
  > Initial - tightening 15 Nm (11 ftlb.)
  
  > Final tightening + 105°
5. 6.5 Tighten screws 4 . on double clutch transmission.
  > Initial - tightening 15 Nm (11 ftlb.)
  
  > Final tightening + 105°

Secure the starter.
> 276019 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING STARTER (V6 TURBO)

Tighten screws on drive plate.

8.1 Screw in new drive plate screws -1- as far as they will go by hand
8.2 Tighten drive plate screws -1- .
> Tightening torque 60 Nm (44.3 ftlb.)

8.3 Insert cover in service opening 2 .

1. 9.1 Connect and lock cable plugs -2 and 3-.
2. 9.2 Clip in clips 4 .

1. 10.1 Fit and tighten screw -2-.
  > Tightening torque -8- (6 ftlb.) Nm

1. 11.1 Fit line for ATF cooling -1- with new 0-rings.
2. 11.2 Position ATF cooling line -1- .
3. 11.3 Fit and tighten screw on line bracket -2- .
  > Tightening - torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
4. 11.4 Screw on and tighten nut for line bracket -3- .
  > Tightening - torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
5. 11.5 Fit and tighten screw on ATF cooling line 4 .
  > Tightening - torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
6. 11.6 Fit and tighten screw securing ATF cooling line to double clutch transmission i
  > Tightening - torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)
