Removing Drive Belt

WARNING: Rotating components 
  • Danger of limbs being trapped or severed 
    1. → Disconnect power supply to the drive motor of components or to the battery.

NOTIFICATION 

Drive belt removed incorrectly 

NOTIFICATION 

Drive belt breaks and becomes jammed 

  1. → Following belt breakage, check adjacent components and the interior of the engine compartment for damage. Repair or replace damaged parts.
  2. → Find out why the belt broke. Check deflection rollers or crankshaft vibration dampers for prior damage.
  3. → If the drive belt is jammed, replace the vibration damper.

Information 

Before removing the drive belt, the rolling direction must be marked for re-installation with chalk or a felt-tipped pen.

  1. Use chalk or a felt-tip pen to mark the rolling direction of the drive belt for re-installation.
  2. Remove drive belt -1-  .

    Drive belt

    1. 2.1  Swivel the belt tensioner -2-  to relieve tension on the drive belt -1-  (in -direction of arrow-  ).
    2. 2.2  Lock belt tensioner -2-  using T10060A - locking pin  .
    3. 2.3  Remove drive belt -1-  .
