Removing Pulley

NOTIFICATION 

Incorrect handling of tools 

• Risk of damage to the body 
  1. → Only use tools approved by Porsche.
  2. → Always ensure that the tool is seated correctly.
  3. → Protect the body and interior of the vehicle from damage with protective covers.
  4. → Cover delicate components with cardboard or sheetmetal panels.

1. Expose electric line for fan control unit.

   Electric plug connections for fan control unit

   1. 1.1  Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1 and 2-  .
   2. 1.2  Loosen electric plug connection -2-  from holder -3-  .
   3. 1.3  Loosen electric lines from holders -4-  .
2. Remove fan control unit -1-  .

   Fan control unit

   1. 2.1  Release and disconnect electric plug connection -2-  .
   2. 2.2  Loosen electric line from holders -3-  .
   3. 2.3  Unscrew screw -4-  .
   4. 2.4  Swivel fan control unit out o, the holder -5-  .
3. Loosen pulley -1-  .

   TDC marking on pulley

   1. 3.1  Turn the pulley -1-  in direction of rotation of the engine until the notch on the pulley and the marking on the chain housing cover -Arrow-  are aligned.
   2. 3.2  Loosen screw -3-  by about 1/2 turn and counter the pulley using T10355 - counter-hold tool-2-  at the same time.

   Make sure that the markings are aligned as before.

4. Unscrew screws -1-  .

5. Secure the pulley using T10531/1  from the T10531 - assembly tool-1-  .

   Special tool for pulley

   1. 5.1  Fit T10531/1 -1-  from the T10531 - assembly tool  with the arrow pointing up.
   2. 5.2  Fit knurled screws -2-  uniformly and tighten hand-tight.
   3. 5.3  Unscrew screw -3-  .
6. Get T10531/2 -1-  ready.

   Special tool for sprocket

   1. 6.1  Turn the knurled screw -Arrow-  on T10531/2 -1-  from the T10531 - assembly tool  as far as it will go to the left.
   2. 6.2  To check, push on T10531/3 -2-  from the T10531 - assembly tool  . It must slide over the running surface without resistance.

   Special tool for crankshaft

   • if you need to turn the crankshaft while the pulley is removed, the special tool T10531/3 -1- must - be pushed on using the hexagon by pushing it outwards and secured with T10531/4 -2- from T10531 - assembly tool  . Make sure that the tooth contour is positioned correctly. The crankshaft can now be turned at the hexagon of the special tool -1-  .
7. Remove pulley.

   Crankshaft sprocket

   1. 7.1  Fit T10531/2  from the T10531 - assembly tool  and tighten hand-tight using a 12-mm open-ended wrench
   2. 7.2  Secure the crankshaft sprocket by tightening the knurled screw -1-  on T10531/2  from the T10531 - assembly tool  hand-tight.
   3. 7.3  Loosen knurled screws -2-  and remove T10531/1  from the T10531 - assembly tool  .
   4. 7.4  Remove pulley -3-  .
