Installing Pulley

Tooth contour

1. 1.1  Coat sealing lip on the shaft sealing ring with engine oil.
2. 1.2  Fit pulley and make sure that the tooth contour -1-  is positioned correctly.

Special tool for sprocket

1. 2.1  Fit T10531/3 -1-  from the T10531 - assembly tool  inwards using the hexagon and secure with T10531/4 -2-  .

Special tool for pulley

1. 3.1  Fit T10531/1 -1-  from the T10531 - assembly tool  with the arrow pointing up.
2. 3.2  Fit knurled screws -2-  uniformly and tighten hand-tight.
3. 3.3  Loosen knurled screw on T10531/2  from the T10531 - assembly tool-3-  .
4. 3.4  Unscrew T10531/4  from the T10531 - assembly tool  .
5. 3.5  Unscrew T10531/2 -3-  from the T10531 - assembly tool  and remove it together with T10531/3. 

Information 

• The new screw for the pulley is supplied with a new O-ring.

Screw on pulley

1. 4.1  Coat O-ring and new  screw for pulley -3-  with engine oil. Then, fit and tighten hand-tight.
2. 4.2  Loosen knurled screws -2-  and remove T10531/1 -1-  from the T10531 - assembly tool  .
3. 4.3  Counter the pulley using T10355 - counter-hold tool  and tighten screw.

   Check the strength of the screw before fitting! 

4. 4.4  Screw 8.8:
   1. Step 1: Initial tightening 150 Nm (111 ftlb.) 
   2. Step 2: Final tightening + 90 (67 ftlb.) ° 
5. 4.5  Screw 10.9:
   1. Step 1: Initial tightening 100 Nm (74 ftlb.) 
   2. Step 2: Final tightening + 180 (133 ftlb.)° 

> Initial - tightening 8 Nm (6 ftlb.) 

> Final tightening + 45°

Fan control unit

1. 6.1  Position fan control unit in holder -5-  .
2. 6.2  Tighten screw -4-  .

   > Tightening - torque 2.5 Nm (1.75 ftlb.) 

3. 6.3  Secure electric line to the brackets -3-  .
4. 6.4  Connect and lock electric plug connection -2-  .

Electric plug connections for fan control unit

1. 7.1  Secure electric lines to the brackets -4-  .
2. 7.2  Attach electric plug connection -2-  to holder -3-  .
3. 7.3  Connect and lock electric plug connections -1 and 2-  .
