Subsequent Work
WARNING:
Steering-angle sensor not calibrated or calibrated incorrectly
- Unexpected vehicle handling
- Steering-angle sensor does not function
- Malfunction in steering-angle sensor
- → After working on wheel suspension parts, when replacing the steering-angle sensor, and after changing the wheel alignment values, calibrate the steering-angle sensor using the PIWIS Tester.
- → Keep the front wheels in straight-ahead position on the measuring platform during calibration.
- → For vehicles with electromechanical steering, also re-teach the electric steering lock settings.
If the previous wheel alignment values (on rear and/or front axle) were changed, the following subsequent work must be performed:
- Calibrate steering-angle sensor for PSM.
> 456005 - CHECKING AND ADJUSTING STEERING-ANGLE SENSOR FOR PSM
- Teach power-steering gear.
- If installed:
Calibrate control unit for distance measuring sensor.
> 278515 - ADJUSTING CONTROL UNIT FOR DISTANCE MEASURING SENSOR
- If installed: Calibrate front camera.
